Sega Game Gear
Sega Game Gear is a portable game console launched early 1990s by Sega. It was supposed to become a challenger for Nintendo's Game Boy.
Game Gear handheld game console is colored in the same way as the Atari Lynx. This was believed to give it an advantage compared to Game Boy (Game Boy turned to color in 1998). In addition, Game Gear has a Master Gear -called accessory that allows Game Gear to be able to play all the Sega Master System games.
Game Gear did not, however, managed to gain market much out from Game Boy because the color screen and backlight consumed too much batteries and Sega managed to only get relatively small range of games for it. Sega dropped support for Game Gear in 1997, although the Majesco re-released the Game Gear and the range of games in 2000.
