Sega Genesis
Sega Genesis (Sega Mega Drive in Europe) was Sega\'s first 16-bit games machine. It is also by far the commercially most successful console from Sega. While Genesis was not as successful as expected in its home country Japan but in Europe it managed to sell even better than Super Nintendo SNES. In USA sales figures were long pretty equal between SNES and Genesis, but the SNES eventually took the victory at the end of 16-bit era. The most successful character of Genesis was its mascot Sonic the Hedgehog who made his debut in 1991 replacing Alex Kidd as Sega\'s official mascot.
Genesis uses Atari model game controller ports, so it can be used with joysticks by many old computers. Sonic the Hedgehog 1, however, is the only game that can be played in a meaningful manner with a single keystroke.
